Sound.cfg help

Post by jorgecerezo on Fri Sep 13, 2013 8:07 pm

Hi,

I would like to add a dead man's device sound to a train that uses a Sound.cfg file. I know how to edit the Sound.cfg file, but I don't know what command line I need to write in the .cfg file.

Can anyone help me?

Hi,

It's depend of the train plugin that you're using.

If you are using the build-in plugin:
[ats]
5=eb.wav

If you are using a specific plugin:
See with the manual of plugin or with a plugin developer himself :-)

Hi Laurent,

I copied the two lines in the Sound.cfg file, but I don't hear the Eb.wav sound. I forgot to say that the train doesn't use a plugin.

Hi Jorge

Well I don't think a "deadman's" device will work without a plugin. It's possible to add the plugin in, just make sure you declare it in the Ats.cfg file.

Hope this will help

If you don't use the sound.cfg file, the train will use default sound names as described here:
http://web.tiscali.it/fopenbve/develop/train_default_sounds.html

Default names are ignored if in the train folder there is a file named sound.cfg. In this case the file has to be written with these specs:
http://web.tiscali.it/fopenbve/develop/train_sound_cfg.html
