Looking forward to Winter?

Post by Dexter on Wed Oct 10, 2012 10:09 pm

Hey guys

we are already experiencing temperatures around zero in early morning hours, which brings me to a question - are you looking forward to the Winter? It's not reaaly a good idea to take a regular (non -EC / IC) train in the Czech rep, as regular fast trains are a piece of shite... some of you might have seen my article about "First class travelling" during the Winter....

I think its disgusting. Our stupid government gives our elderly an extra £15 per week to help with their bills when it gets between a certain degrees. They dont think about all these people who are scaired to go out in such cold weather.

On another side, trains run late, causing a backlog and lots of cancelations, our busses simply just stop and out schools close when.the first flake hits the floor.

Then we run out of salt and grit and our roads become blocked like a vein and causes the whole system to slow and shut down. Its appauling.

Rant over haha

Winter in city is awful. But what about such a winter below in mountains? Naturally if the train will come in time and heating is working!

Well it's always intresting to see how much snow we get over 'ere. I'm thinking there definantly will be snow this year considering the shite weather we've had here recently!

No. I really don't want to be driving into London for shifts in the snow!

That I understand. I just put winter tyres on my car, a first snowing is expected this weekend...

Not merely. Although I hope we don't end up with snowfall as bad as last year. That had shut down Gatwick Airport.

We never have snow here in Hong Kong, but the only thing we got is cold north wind that makes you shiver, and bringing the pollutants from Mainland China down to make us sick, so I am not looking forward to Winter.
If there were snow in Hong Kong, it would be worse, I feel lucky for not having any snow in Hong Kong!

Summer is just quite humid and it makes you feel sticky sometimes so I am not looking forward to Summer either.

Spring would be nicer.

Thanks Alvin for reminding me, why I prefer to spend my summer leave in Norway than in France or even further south Laughing

I dunno why snow is so unpopular in this thread... Sure it does bring some work with it, but it makes the cities look a bit cleaner (something very valuable in Frankfurt Laughing) and the landscape beautiful. With snow heights of several meters Norwegians have far more to clean up and somehow I didn't hear any of them complain yet Smile
