It should be accessible without needing to be a registered face-ache user.

It's going to be fully driveable, including new cabview, as I have some pics. The 2700s are being phased out by IE by the end of 2012 and 2800 sets will be used instead. So this will be a very necessary addition to the fleet. A "passing train" version will probably be created later.

You may well be 100% right there. Now it just so happened last week I was in Ballina and noticed the 2800 in service. Resulting in emergency brake application and grabbing of camera. Got some external pics to start off with, but train was parked up and no sign of crew. I returned Monday and got to talk to the driver and got interior pics.

Good looking as well!

In sorry, but I have to ask. This is clearly an interior, and a good looking one at that, but why the sudden change of heart? It wasn't too long ago you was weary of interior and the FPS issues they may cause?

You're quite right to ask, Ben. I DO still have reservations concerning FPS on low -end systems. At the same time there is a choice of Irish stock so it would be possible for a less resource-hungry train to be used if this high detail one is problematic. I could remark that "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em". . . the current 22000 has an interior, though not so detailed. I'm interested to see where this is going and the only way is make it to try it (I don't run UK trains on Irish soil)

No doubt the bve community will let me know later if it is a performer or not, there's still a fair bit of work to do before a beta will be available.

Hi there tony:

1. No this isn't a route it's an exterior as the picture clearly shows above
2. You should consider reading the rules and regs before posting, it shouldn't be too difficult for you seeing as you have learning issues.
3. If you have any questions, please do let us know and we can help where we can.

Thanks and the link is above if you would like to know more.

Regards,

At present I have a workable two car set with fully detailed interior. The two cars are not identical as only one car in the set has a toilet. So the seating is different. Using the ANIMATED files format to assemble the cars and animate the doors plus the door lights there's a lot of lines of code. The biggest line count is the seating for car 1 at 4761 lines. The main car itself is around 1200 lines. Added up the complete set is 11,600 lines of code, NOT counting the animated files themselves.
Work will begin soon on a 2800 cab. (the set of externals has been run using the 2700 for now). Frame rates, surprisingly, seem remarkably good, though I do have a reasonably powerful PC.

Using the F2 key and setting the view position inside the car its possible to have a passenger's eye view of the entire route, with the auto driver (AI) doing all the work.

On trials I found it important to use the latest version of the OpenBVE program 1.4.20 - some flickering of seat faces was evident with v 1.4.12 - anisotropic filtering & anti-aliasing both set to 16.

I have to say the doors are placed at a funny length down the train. Nice model though!

You would have to ask Tokyu Car Corporation about that, they built it. In terms of practicality the layout allows efficient boarding with no seat being more than four rows from the nearest exit. This makes perfect sense for a short haul commuter train.

That's a rather typical layout, exactly for the reasons Gray mentioned.

The way it looks on the image from the 15th of October I'd say it's a mixture of 2D with transparency and 3D - mind the artifacts on the chairs further behind and the gaps in the one on the first plan. Would'nt full 3D be more FPS-efficient?

That's why I am asking. And actually the fully 3D is questionnable. If Gray uses transparency, it is realtively FPS friendly. If he was doing every single seat in 3D, it would bring a truckload of faces -> perfomance losses.
