Future Route releases......

Post by mobile1 on Fri Aug 10, 2012 4:55 pm

Hi all,

I would like to know what routes are due for release this year, I think it would be a shame to release too many new route files ( if any ) at the same time, hence the question, I dont mean probables but definates......Your response would aid us developers a great deal.......regards

The BWR-2012 routes just released are all that are likely from celtictrainsim.com this year.

The first ever Mexican line for openBVE "The Mexican Metropolitan Railway Line 3" has just been announced by Alejandro Vargas Melo at http://openbvemetromexico.blogspot.mx/, a huge deal of fully animated openBVE rolling stocks are also available as per respective websites through the blog's links page.

Hi Tony, the pic is of the latest route, it is finished, just tidying up, sending to a member for route testing, should be on my web site later this week..

For anyone else reding this post, you will need BrSema4Sigs, BrSigs and BrSigs_open to run the route files.... geek

Fantastic screenshot.

Brief panic about the additional files needed, but Google saved the day... Smile

Tony I don't think this topic is about questioning other members about their download addresses and everything, have you read the first post carefully?

I'd like to say something about the first post. We all don't know anything about what the future might bring, good or bad. I don't think, holding back things artificially will do any good. Our ancestors in the baroque knew it quite well: "Carpe diem - memento mori". Enjoy your day - remember being a mortal. Or in a more modern version; enjoy your every day as if it were your last.

Carpe diem
translates into English as "seize the day", implying a rather more pro-active stance than merely "enjoying" it. In modern times the imperative of instant gratification might suggest enjoyment as the raison d'etre of the species, and that is part of what is wrong with life today.
The phrase is widely attributed to the Roman lyric poet Horace (Quintus Horatius Flaccus, 8 December 65 BC – 27 November 8 BC), the full line from which it is taken is "Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero – "Seize the Day, putting as little trust as possible in the future", although authorship is sometimes disputed.

The question of proactivity vs. reactivity/passivity is as old as mankind and already the romans told their youth to be useless and way too hedonistic for mankind to have a future... Which of course doesn't mean I don't agree with you; there's too much passivity and, in my eyes even worse, egocentrism around today.

future route releases

Post by mobile1 on Thu Sep 13, 2012 7:30 pm

Hi Quork, thanks for your reply, the reason for my question was to try to avoid the problem we had some time ago, when three or four very good route files were published at the same time, it meant that virtually no feedback was given, (good or bad) because, in my opinion, of the amount of routes produced at that time...dont look any deeper than this, it was just a logical request......

Personally I don't see any valid reason for apologizing for your idea - it is of course a matter of each developer when or why he decides to release his work. Cool
There could actually be something reasonable in the feedback point you made.
