Meeting the famous Dalai Lama

Post by lonelyinardwick on Sat Jun 16, 2012 8:06 am

This afternoon I'm meeting the Dalai Lama at the MEN Arena, and I'm so honoured to have this once in a lifetime opportunity. Unfortunately cameras are strictly prohibited, and I would be slightly gutted if it included my phone's camera. I hope to add an entry to my blog about this before it's too late to forget all the experience! Very Happy

Oh, you're a lucky person... His Holiness is an interesting, intelligent person with a very positive aura. I grew up in a household with a day-calendar with quotes by him, and virtually each of them was a source of knowledge and happiness.

I came back from meeting the Dalai Lama on Saturday and I really must concede he was really funny yet so inspirational. I never knew until Russell Brand also attended the event which surprised me, and he was also funny. Tickets were provided free from my sixth-form college whom they ordered so thanks to the Ethics lecturer. I enjoyed it so much.

  • Had some delicious large chocolate cream from Starbucks, my sister is a manager in Starbacks infact but no DCs. drunken
  • The ticket to the event given from college, I was lucky to be the last one requesting for it.
  • Russell Brand coming on stage to share a few jokes and introduce the Dalai Lama
  • Dalai Lama making his speech following a Q&A session he wished for.
  • An Enviro 400 bus in the Diamond Jubilee livery I found upon returning home.

  • Me in plain white shirt on the uppermost right at 1:00 in that video (Row G Seat 13)
  • Sharing some laughs during the Q&A session.

[offtopic]Yup[/offtopic]

With little time to explain, there are articles mainly from the Manchester Evening News and the BBC
