A little light relief, I'm sure I've seen one of these somewhere else Razz

Can we have an argument about who was first now affraid

(The photos for the green variant were actually in my 'To Build' pile before Graymac went and built one, this was a couple of hours work this morning on re-texturing Smile )

That looks well Chris!!

I knew you were tinkering with a blue Hymek and I also had the files for one off the web, the one with the "animated clag" and a framerate count somewhere in the minus range! Razz

So anyway, I decided not to use any of that stuff, I didn't want a blue one anyway. I probably "found" my textures from the same places you got your green ones from - there aren't a massive number of useable pics out there. My mesh is 100% original from scale drawings and the textures are extensively Photoshopped from many bits and pieces.
I've made a panel2 cab to use with mine but the sounds/physics are NOT authentic, being a mish-mash of bits from other locos.

So I would say you were first to start on a 35, but I got to finish one first!!

Are you looking for any suggestions ?....what else is planned ?, where do you get the time ?, i guess your not married....how about a replacement for brsema4sigs !.....regards mobile1

I'm sure I've passed these around before, but I've written some proper documentation and tidied up the folder structure after your post:
http://www.bvecornwall.co.uk/downloads/OpenBVESemaphores.zip

That's got upper and lower quadrant arms as follows:

  • Home
  • Distant
  • Home (Goods only line)
  • Home (Small arm- Shunt ahead/ siding entrance)
  • Home (Backing movements)

There's also a basic GWR 21ft signal post, but nothing else Smile
All built in full animated 3D, with a minimum of transparencies so should look much better.

They *should* be drop-in replacements for BRSema4Sigs, although I haven't got anything installed with them to test all combinations just at the minute.

If you want anything else signalling related, there's a reasonable variety of GWR gantries in the Plymouth route, so please help yourself.

If you want anything else adding to Trackgen, that can be done assuming it's reasonably simple- The viaduct is probably about as complicated as can easily be done, but send me a sample and I'll see what I can do Smile

Edit:
Signals now up on my site for good measure-

Rather pleased with today's main work:

Whilst it may not look a lot, the pillar is built 100% in 3D, so no transparencies here Smile
The viaduct deck is nicely curved- See below!

I took the time to add steel viaduct decking to TrackGen- This will be needed for this viaduct (Colrennick), plus two more between Liskeard and Bodmin; Whilst I don't anticipate getting there any time soon, I'd rather write the tool to do it for me to make my life much easier in the long-run.

TrackGen 1.6.2 is now up on my site. You need to supply a suitable pillar object if required, but that shouldn't be too difficult Laughing

Cracking piece of work mate, BVE may not have the following it once had, but the quality just keeps on improving!

Work hasn't stopped on this either Smile
The construction gangs have reached Menheniot, and I spent most of this morning creating the start of the station:

It's acutally surprising how little there is left to do here- Most of the basic scenery on the left-hand side of the track is complete, and it just needs the small bits placing. The right-hand side on the other hand hasn't been started yet Sad

Scenery is complete on the run-in to Menheniot station now:

Need to sort some of the scenery around the station exit, but nearly there.

Done rather a lot of visible work on the Western today:

The raised access panels and bits on the roof are now 3D, the horn boxes have been built, and handrails and lights have been added at the front Smile
Next on the list is the bufferbeam hardware.

I've also added engine overheating to the plugin code, and will be adding torque convertor overheating too.

I'm not sure quite how far this one will go on the detailing front- I'm not 100% happy with the cab handrails/ footstep detail, but making that 3D would use an awful lot of faces, and the cab is nuts on faces already Sad

Thanks gents Smile

Added the fire bell test sequence and the operation of the radiator louvers to the plugin today, as well as a whole bunch of other small bits.

What I could really do with is an original driver's manual, with the way this is going- I've got ones for the Peaks and the Type 2 (Class 24 & 25/0) kicking around here, and the dual-brake supplemental booklet from here: http://locodocs.co.uk/brmanuals/52dualbrakesupplement1966.htm

All the fault lights work, but I've had to make certain educated guesses in terms of operating sequences.
The current basic driving instructions take up nearly two A4 pages, which is rather scary for this sim.

Anyone happen to have any contacts in the WSR or SVR diesel groups?

Cheers

Too much stuff going on, and this route has got rather neglected for a few months Razz

The shot of the day shows the approach to the A38 overbridge approx 2km before Liskeard station.

Over the last few days though, I've completed the better part of 3km worth of scenery towards Liskeard, plus added the basic landforms and bridges for the rest of the way there.

Work slowly progresses!

I made a good start on the rebuild of Liskeard station today-
The basic structures/ trackwork for Liskeard TMD and the Looe branch curve (100m radius!) are in place, as is the mainline trackwork.
I've also got the large Cornwall Farmers building mostly built, but haven't made a start on the station cutting or the Looe branch platform as of yet.

So, this shot is from just outside the station platforms, a little further on from the previous screenshot:

Approximately 50% of the main structures are in place (Nothing on the left-hand side of the track or past the station yet.....), but this is going together rather quickly for once Smile

Unfinished projects.....

The 16xx Pannier has been in my unfinished pile for too long Sad

I've now added the chassis, wheels brake rigging and some of the finer details.
Still missing the splashers, toolboxes and the piping under the boiler, but probably ~80% complete.

Note:
For the purists, the number on this one really ought to be 1650, but 1638 is the only survivor, and hence my image source Razz

Hmm, someone seems to have stolen my cabs:

A rather WIP Class 50 from today.
The livery is probably a little late (NSE came into being in 1986, and this is the revised variant so probably ~1990....), but I do try and build our gala visitors Smile

Missing the cabs ends, nameplates and a bunch of detailing, but this will probably only be a passing train object.

Starting to get there:

Still needs most of the bufferbeam hardware building, and the headcode box on the roof finishing, but the cab ends are in place now.
