Sorry - I don't know the station or the circumstances - the article made me think it was travelling at speed

The article uses the words "speeding train" in the headline, Ben. Nowhere does it say the train is hardly moving. And, as you say, she is wrong to ignore the warning lights which the other pedestrians obsserved and respected. It is just as bad the way a lot of these silly cows push their kids in pushchairs into traffic. You'd want a momma like that??? You might not be here now if you had one.

Heres another one for your Gray! The first video is very shocking indeed!

And the only reason i know the train was at 0MPH because i recently did a "write up" of the video witch can be viewed here.

Huh well... Though from what even I saw during my only one and a half years till now (though always with happy end), worst are motorcyclists. They have a notorious habit of thinking they fit everywhere. There are extremly focal points, wherever there are traditional motorcycle routes crossing a railway. Or how a train driver teacher once said to me, shortly before we reached a level crossing - "there's some crosses right there, and I'm not talking about the saltires" (the saltire, white with red caps, is the level crossing sign in most continental european countries, its meaning is roughly said "railway vehicles really have right of way"). Five seconds or so later we saw a motorcyclist backing off in panic and just in time...

All very true. In spite of the safety messages by the rail companies there's still plenty who are foolish enough to chance it. Although the American crossing was not as well guarded as a Brit one, so if a motorist isn't paying attention it is easier to end up on the tracks.

His own fault... it's not even the fact he was over the line... it's the fact he was walking literally on the edge of the platform and slipped into the gap and probably then got pulled under by the train.

First thing I would have done if I was there, was chucked his bike on the track. Short the track circiut out, will hold the signal before that signalling section on red.

I think the most important point to make with incidence like this to the public - is that even the professionals sometimes get it wrong too:

Something from the car industry... the first vid is a commercial (about 30 secs), the second vid (opens automatically) is the correct one.

You wouldn't expect the clamp to fall off that easily.

Anyway, I think wheel clampers should be lined up against the wall and shot. Bas****s!!

I would strongly advise against trying this with a Dutch clamp..... driving away with it will puncture your tyre! Twisted Evil

I agree. I think the worst part would be when you need to go to the hospital urgently, you would be forced to call an ambulamps I mean ambulance.

I'm still waiting for a clamper to clamp the 'wrong' kind of person...

One of my contacts, claimed he'd got a clamper to remove one once, by just being very polite, but enquiring nervously about a 'special delivery' to an Army base(scenery for a drama group) and that he'd only stopped to make sure 'he was going in the right direction'. It may have helped that both he and the clampers had a very broad accent!!

If you want a laugh, there's a DVD of some Jasper Carrots material on Amazon IIRC, that includes various things people put on Motor
Insurance claims...

Sydney doesn't work that way.

Thats an auto signal, can't be held at Red.
