Bveworldwide

Post by Virgintrains61 on Fri Mar 02, 2012 3:12 pm

In what I say, Bveww hasn't had any negatives toward the Adium or moderators and users of this site. We should keep it that way. So It is important that terms and conditions are included in a forum for everyone's safety and security. What do u say based on this?

Yes, they are included. Very Happy

A forum without terms and conditions is not a forum, that's an anarchy. Very Happy

By the way, why is this not placed within your previous topic?

Dunno what my purpose to do on here is. I'm not even a developer, NorthernLine will not teach me to code because he's not bothered. I also have not done any images yet because the computer is faulty. So sorry all.

If you play the simulator, post videos of what you like to do etc... And coding is hard to begin with but gets easier

I don't think there is a need to apologize for anything; you are not really obliged to do anything for the simulator... Very Happy

don't worry virmin trains. I'm not a developer either. ok yes I've supplied images for a couple of ongoing projects, but wouldn't have the slightest clue how to go about doing any developing from scratch!

The word "Forum" dates back to Roman times and meant "meeting place". The modern web has taken the word for that purpose. So the forum is a discussion board where people with a common interest may meet to exchange knowledge, thoughts and ideas, and ask questions. It is open to all who have an interest in the BVE trainsim, whether they just play it or if they make material for it. So don't be shy, everyone's welcome to join (even Jamie LOL) and participate at whatever level they feel comfortable with. Very Happy

Jamie, is creating for Open something that you do fancy having a crack at? I didn't really fancy it before but now I can't stop putting together small bits and pieces, its brilliant. I see it as a free version of a model railway - just create what you want with unlimited amounts of space!

I do all I can to commit to this site. I even practice object code and create a train. But not ones that are already in WIP. It would arise conflict

There's no "copyright" on subject matter. Problems seem to arise in the past where two people are making their versions of a similar train and one thinks the other has nicked his images to use.
Partly this is stupidity in letting stuff get out before it's ready. If you use your own pictures there's no reason why you cannot make anything you like.
Of course, whether we need a dozen Class 180s is another matter Very Happy

Well yes. of course. its just a case of learning how code etc. and getting images, sounds etc etc. I've got a few images which may be of help to build objects/externals. And being a regular at some preserved railways probably be able to get cab images and if I had suitable equipment sounds....

That will be a massive help should you go onto creating trains aswell as objects. I am in the process of writing a tutorial for object building so that its easily understandable for those of us that are like me and need it in small chunks!! If you would like a copy to have a crack at then let me know.

So what is next on bveww. Could be more downloads, interesting facts and to practice on developing. Plus it's much better and more interesting than Openbve site. On there you say one solution and then your blocked. So I'm glad I've come here. Solutions help others on this site. I call it the friendliest forum on the net.

Just wait and see what turns up, you can never tell what might happen, especially as there's some very active people on the board!
The OpenBVE site is fine, but it's more help if you are a programmer, or at a high level of knowledge already. It has been criticised for not being very user friendly for beginners. There may be some justification for the criticism, but I couldn't possibly comment! Wink

The world of BVE is constantly changing. Every now and again u get new bve developers and the old developers who retire like guillyman. I can predict that Openbve in the future could be accessed from smaller devices and computers. Also coding could be possible through these smaller devices, so if your out and about on the railway u r working on you could take pictures and then code later and send the files to your desktop or laptop.
