Here's to express your ideas about the idea and/or the contents of the portal... so don't by too shy. Very Happy

That's a great improvement Derryck. Better functionality, especially for when the knowledge and links sections come on stream.

@Gray: Thanks, I will also create a separate site for the BWWAA, so that the documents don't have to be downloaded as .pdf files... it'll be better I guess. Smile Once the portal is finished, I might set the domain to "throw" you on the portal to decide where to go next, instead of an automatic loading of the forum... depends, maybe I will make a poll about that later on. Very Happy
I also hope that you will be able to contribute to the "KnowledgeBase"... may I link to your guides later on? Very Happy

It would make perfect sense to route ALL traffic through the portal. For the benefit of the tiny minority who don't want to play ball, they can always enter via bookmarked forum page, that's what I do for OBVE "new posts" when I can't be bothered to log in and go through the navigation. My opinion is you can make a decision on that unilaterally, if you choose to. The design brief of any site isn't the business of anyone other than the proprietor.
I have combined all the eejits object building guides to date in asingle download. To improve availability, and as it is not a large file, you might like to serve it from the BWW server and make your own link from the knowledge base section. I'm totally open and free on any tutorial material I produce so distribute it as you like, any time.
I was also wondering if a guide to adding rolling stock exteriors using the extension files would be a good idea. A lot of people ask about it from time to time. Ballyfeckin rolling stock uses a common file system with simple to install modular train add-ons, but just about ever other stock maker expects users to mess around with config files etc. Some of them provide the extra files to go with the stock, some don't, it can be a mess. And G-d help anyone who tries to mess with Ben's pivoting bogie stock, unless they really know how it works. So that might be a good tutorial to consider at some point.

cheers, gray

I do, MrK! Mostly, the concern is with changing the odd items of standard rolling stock (extra wagons/cars etc) I wasn't particulary thinking of your pivot bogie stock, as that is rather unique to BVE and really doesn't need to be messed about with. Although some are sure to try and do so.
Do you still have the instruction guide for the pivoting bogies? You might make it available on your site for reference. I don't think Alan would object.

A separate website has been created for BWWAA. Visit it by clicking so-called link in your navigation bar. Ideas? Comments?

I've just had a look. and yes, that's a much tidier job, it is clear to view for the user and will make "housekeeping" easier for you, Derryck.

Thank you. Please note that it is still a bit of test run, so If you experience any problems, please report them either here, or via pm.
