Several dead and many wounded after US Army military transport stops on level crossing.

It is a black day for the railway. My thoughts are with those who lost loved ones in this tragedy and with the surviving victims; especially with the family of my fellow railwayman, whom we sadly have to assume to have died on duty.

Level crossings are a curse on modern railways, not only in Germany but wherever they still remain in operation. Condolences and sympathy for those involved in this terrible accident.
